Strengthening Recovery Through Community and Connection
Recovery Community Centres (RCCs) are welcoming, peer-led spaces where people find connection, stability, and hope. BCARA’s Recovery Community Centre Collaborative works to strengthen RCCs through leadership, shared knowledge, and collaboration—making these supports visible, valued, and sustainably resourced across British Columbia.
About the Recovery Community Centre Collaborative
Our mission is to support and strengthen Recovery Community Centres across BC—elevating their impact, visibility, and resources.
We do this by bringing people together, sharing what works, and advocating for the recognition and support RCCs need to be part of a strong, recovery-oriented system of care.
What We Do
We focus on three key areas to help RCCs thrive.
Advocacy with Impact
- Champion the essential role RCCs play in recovery
- Advocate for sustainable funding and resources
- Share events, news, and ways to get involved
Leadership That Grows From Within
- Elevate recovery leaders, including those with lived experience
- Help create strong, safe spaces for recovery and belonging
Knowledge Exchange Rooted in Lived Experience
- Share practical, accessible learning
- Turn research into simple tools RCCs can use
- Offer training grounded in real-life voices, fairness, and care
Who This Is For
The Collaborative is for RCC leaders, peer teams, community partners, and organizations committed to strengthening recovery support through leadership, knowledge, and connection. It’s also relevant for funders, policymakers, researchers, and system partners who want to understand RCCs’ impact and support their sustainability.
