Sheila Sanders is the Executive Director of the ALANO Club of Vancouver, a community-based addiction recovery centre, where she has served since 2020. She has served on ALANO’s board of directors since 2021 and brings deep roots in the addiction recovery sector.

Since ALANO joined BC Addiction Recovery Association six years ago, Sheila has been an active participant in BCARA’s programs, including the Recovery Community Centre Collaborative, Therapeutic Community training, and multiple International Lived Learning Experience training workshops (LLE) including as a trainee facilitator. She currently serves on the BCARA Knowledge Exchange Advisory Committee.

Sheila brings over three decades of non-profit governance experience, both professionally, and as a governance and educational volunteer in the co-operative housing sector since 1991.  In her current role, she oversees ALANO’s budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls, and supports the board in governance education, strategic planning, and legal compliance.
