Isaac Hernandez

Isaac Hernandez has over 30 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector specializing in addictions, mental health, cultural, and clinical counselling. Isaac was a founder member and first elected president of the Indigenous Certification Board of Canada (2005 – 2010) www.icboc.ca and a presenter on spirituality as a pathway to recovery to the Healing our Spirit World, Indigenous Conference (Edmonton, 2006; Honolulu, 2010; and New Zealand, 2015). He has served with Indigenous Peoples in Asia, Latin and North America. Isaac is a graduate of Trinity Western University and McGill University, and a practicum supervisor for Yorkville University, master’s degree students. Isaac is an Indigenous Certified Addictions Specialist and has extensive experience in planning, developing, and implementing community-based health programs. Isaac serves in a variety of community-based programs on addictions and mental health services, and a nominated board member of the newly formed BC Addictions Recovery Association (BCARA).
