Stacey Petersen is a nationally recognized leader in addiction and mental health, celebrating 37 years in long-term recovery in October 2024. He became CEO of Cedars Recovery in October 2021 and is proud to lead a dedicated team on Vancouver Island, B.C. Prior to Cedars, Stacey served 18 years as Executive Director of Fresh Start Recovery Centre, guiding its growth and national recognition, including multiple top rankings by the Fraser Institute and awards for nonprofit excellence. He also led Simon House Recovery Centre and has over 35 years in the field as a Registered Social Worker. Stacey was named one of Calgary’s “Top 40 Under 40” and received the McKillop Award for social impact. He serves on several boards, including Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, Unlimited Worth Society, and the BC Addiction Recovery Association, and was appointed to the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction’s Lived Experience Working Group.
